Mitä sinun tulisi tietää neulevaatteesta?

What should you know about knitwear?

Now it's about knitting. I recently read a good article about knitting materials and quality about Hesar *, and sometimes customers ask about it, so it's worth writing a blog about it.

Now are the best times to use sweaters, when there is a lot of snow and frost outside. There are also a huge number of sweaters available at the moment, and we also have a good selection of sweaters in different colors and made of different materials at Pussuka!

The materials of the knitwear

When you go knitting shopping, you should always look at the material label of the garment.

When shopping for clothes, you should always look at the product description
Look at the note!

Acrylic and polyester are knitting materials that tend to pucker. However, their prices are so attractive that it is easy to make a quick purchase decision. That's when it's good to remind yourself that a 100% synthetic fiber sweater won't stay cool for long, and may be a very short-term pleasure.

However, artificial fibers are not always a bad thing. For example, polyamides improve the durability of a knitwear. The 20% rule is considered a good guideline; artificial fibers about 20% and the remaining 80% of the sweater should be natural materials.

The sweater stays good if it is cared for and maintained correctly
A really fluffy sweater will pucker, even if it doesn't have artificial fibers at all!

Natural materials also shrink somewhat when used. The shorter the wool fiber (and the fluffier the knit), the more the knit will pucker. A loosely knitted garment also puckers more than a tight and smooth knit.

However, if you fall in love with synthetic fiber knitwear, the game is not lost. When you are aware of the risks and take care of your sweater properly, it may well serve you for many winters!

Washing and maintenance of knitwear

It is not necessary to wash the sweater after each use, but often just airing and local stain removal is sufficient. The washing interval will also be extended if you wear an undershirt under the sweater.

Many knitwear can withstand washing with the washing machine's wool wash program, but I personally recommend always washing knitwear by hand. Use only wool detergent and turn the sweater inside out when washing.

Synthetic fiber knitwear in particular needs gentle hand washing and the removal of knots as soon as they appear. Plints can be removed with a lint remover or a knitting comb intended for wool. To prevent stretching, knitwear should always be dried on a level surface, for example on a clothes rack with a towel spread over it.

When washing knitwear, use your own detergent intended for wool
Take care and take care of your sweater correctly!
