Once upon a time in the kitchen, Mother and daughter's recipes from the field – Anna Perho & Leena Perho
Once upon a time there was an old house with a log-walled kitchen-living room, which was the heart of the house. In the kitchen are a mother and daughter who love food. From there, a cookbook is born, where the food grows.
Leena is a farm lady who learned to cook when there were no breakfast cereals, and the most exotic food in the village shop was porridge rice. Anna, on the other hand, has grown up to be a home cook in a time when everyday food is Asian, for example, and the fruit counter is always full of fresh produce.
But in the silence of the log kitchen, we return to basics, joining for a moment a part of the history of farm kitchens, where women have cooked for centuries. Even though the world around us is changing, hands knead bread and salt enhance the flavors of food in exactly the same way as they did thousands of years ago.
